I was hoping that they wouldn't say anything, or notice that I had dressed up for the speech. When I walked into the classroom, I immediately went to my seat and sat there until my professor showed up. My classmates started to showing up and they noticed right away that I was wearing a nicesmart collar shirt and nice pants. Their reaction was kind of puzzling, because they all asked why I had dressed up for the speech, even though we didn't have too. My response was that I wanted too and I thought it would look good if I dressed up. Some of my other classmates really didn’t care or have an opinion about me dressing up. I expected this to happen because I knew that my friends and my classmates were going to be surprised or puzzled that I went to the effort of looking nice.
My teacher’s reaction to me dressing up was really cool and funny. She thought it was cool, and also great to see that I put in the effort of actually dressing up and looking nice for my speech. Her attitude about me dressing up was really cool to see, because I felt better about putting all my effort into looking nice. To be honest, I thought was everyone was going to judge me and label me as a “try hard”, but everybody accepted the way I looked, which was awesome.
Overall, I was happy that I dressed up for the speech. I feel this way because most of my classmates and my teacher thought it was cool and a great idea for me to dress up. I will probably not dress up the next time we do a speech. I just thought it this would be a great way to show that I was making a significant change in my presentation of myself. This is one of many great examples to show specific impressions about yourself in the minds of others.
