Painting art is overrated.
I'm talking about landscape, portrait, still life and other paintings that do not carry any meaning, history or are just too realistic.
Yes, they are very well drawn, and it's pleasant to look at them. But in my opinion they're just showing the skill level of a painter. Nothing, nothing more. And nowadays when we have cameras, these types of art become almost meaningless*.
All I'm saying is, if you don't like some of the popular paintings, it's totally fine. I'm sick of people who shame those who doesn'tdon't like their so-called "masterpieces" as much as they do. Everyone has their own opinion. That's the whole point of art.
*Unless an artist makes them more interesting: using different styles, methods, adding some details, e.t.c.
