A few weeks ago, I received a call from my father with the sad message that he has lung cancer. After a first radiotherapy and 2two chemo therapies, just before New Year’s Eve, a new MRI scan concluded that all those ditreatments had n’ot haved the desired effect, and the tumors had only greown biglarger. A week and a half ago, we went to the hospital again to discuss the next steps. The doctors had already concluded that his physical condition, the fact that the radio- and chemo therapies dihadn’t helped, and the pain he already had, made it useless to keep on doing treatments. That basically means he’s in the last months of his life.
Currently, they are focusing on Ppain Ccontrol in Ppalliative Ccare to make his last months as enjoyable as possible.
