When I was a child in Thailand, I did not write to my sisters, brothers, friends, andor parents. I just talked to them face -to -face. AfLater, once I had moved to the city, I would called my friends and family, on the telephone when I was lonely. Sometimes I'd call just to say, "Hi. I miss you." I never wrote letters. Then, in 1987, I moved to Los Angeles to study English. What could I do.? I had to start writing. I wrote long letters to my family, but I didn't have time to write such long letters very often. Also, the mail took a long time. Now, I write my family and friends using e-mail. I love it, becanduse it's fast and much cheaper than a phone calls and I can do it every day.
