Throughout the book ‘Digger J. Jones’ written by Richard J. Frankland, Digger is realising how important his friendships are. Digger’s life changes in multiple ways, helping contribute to his feelings towards his personal relationships. On his journey, he forms deeper connections with the people around him, such as his previous enemy Darcy, his brother Paulie who he adored, and Sister Ally, thatto whom Digger showed a lot of care and respect for.

The bond Digger had with his big brother Paulie. Digger’s brother had a
very bigstrong impact on DiggersDigger's life, so when Paulie passed away, Digger was prompted to write a letter to him in regardsregard to how much he loved him. DiggersDigger's love for his brother was also shown when he referred to his older brother as nothing but a ‘hero.’ As seen through this heartfelt letter, Digger truly loved and respected his older brother as he was one of the most obvious relationships held within Digger.
