6 types of psychological violence inflicted by narcissistic parents
Narcissistic parents who display rejectionrejectional behavior towards a child often [deliberately or unconsciously] suggest to the children that they are undesirable. Bullying or neglecting a child is a form of psychological abuse. Other examples may include telling a child to disappear, calling it all names or telling himhim/her that ithe/she is worthless, making a child the scapegoat of the family and blaming him for the problems of the family / brothers and sisters.
- Ignore: several times, the parent is there physically, but emotionally unavailable. Not responding or interacting with your child in a consistent manner is emotional and psychological abuse.
- Terror: Parents who use threats, cries and curses cause serious psychological damage to their children. Threatening a child with hard words, physical harm, abandonment or, in extreme cases, death is unacceptable.
- Isolation: A parent who abuses a child through isolation candoes not allow the child to engage in appropriate activities with peers.
