The book Midnight in Peking by Paul French is based on the true story of the murder of the young 19-year-old British lady, Pamela Werner. This book was published by Penguin Australia, in partnership with Penguin China in 2011. Paul French is a historian who lives in Shanghaiand China expert, with seven years of research, and China expert, Paulwho lives in Shanghai. French was able to create a new and unique book for readers to read. This is actually the first book that I have read from PaulFrench, but it seemsseemed to me it was going tothat it would be something I wouldI'd enjoy. This non-fiction book was something new to me, reading. Reading about solving athe case of the murder of a young British woman back in 1937 in China was amazing, people. People who might want to be lawyers, detectivedetectives or who are engrossed of mysterythose who enjoy mysteries would absolutely love this book. The title, Midnight in Peking, made sense because the story took place in the city of Peking, where Pamela was murdermurdered. Since this book was based on a true story, the book addedthere were some photos added of Pamela, Pamela’s dad, E.T.C. Werner, and DCI Dennis, who’swho were the British detectivedetectives, and the Fox Tower where they founded Pamela’s dieddead body.
