It is tough to make a policy decision that is ethical for each situation and economical for the country. However, everyone wants healthcare costs to decrease and wants development of advanced treatments to improve outcomes, which is a costly endeavor. Within the health care system, policy makers must always try to balance between the ethical and economic implications of any decision. The tension describing the American health care system is strongly associated with cost and care (Kingdon and Thurber, 2010). Some stakeholders view that cost issues should be prioritized over ethical issues. However, such stakeholders support the government's mission to cut the high prices related to national health care system. Some of stakeholders are adamant that Medicaid should support the utmost moral standards during the decision-making process. (Shi, 2011). The best method towards decision-making referrefers to the evaluation of possible resources. It is impractical for Medicaid to ignore the role played by costs in policy formulation. Even though this method is bound to raise concerns, it serves as the most practical approach.
