Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino is his full name, but, he is known as Raphael. He was an Italian artist and architecturearchitect. He is considered one of the thirdthree greatest artists in the Renaissance, behindalong with Leonardo da Vinci. He was born on April 6, 1483, in Urbino, Italy. and onHe died of natural causes on April 6, 1520 in Rome, Italy, he died of natural causes andwhen he was only 37 years old. He is famous for his artistic techniques like foreshortening and perspective. Therefore, one of his most famous masterpiecemasterpieces is The School of Athens, which represents Philosophy. It was painted between 1509 and 1511 as a group of four main frescoes on the walls of Stanza. Raphael used one and two-point perspective of this painting to give an illusion of depth, the lines on the floor tiles, and the pillars that make a single vanishing point on the horizon line.
