Charlemagne, son of Pepin the Short, was a man of honor who leadled his kingdom into prosperity. His grand accomplishments make any unfortunate incident seem nonexistent. His military success, passion for learning, and devotional loyalty to God had earned CharlesCharlemagne the title of “the Great.”
Due to Charlemagne’s incredible
abilityabilities in war, the empire had expanded to almost the entirety of western Europe. His desire to rescue Rome was brought to life after conquering the Lombards in Italy. Many other tribes such as the Saxons and Avars were defeated and converted to Christianity, granting them the ability to be saved. Based on this, you can perceive Charlemagne as a virtuous and kind man.
Before Charlemagne’s reign,
there werevery few men that received an education. This was soon to be over once he became king. His royal court was made into the leading center of learning. Only the greatest scholars of all of western Europe were brought to the Aix-la-Chapelle. He established schools for priestpriests and monks to improve their literacy. As the empire advanced they developed a clean and simple handwriting known as the Carolingian Minuscule.
This
concludesdemonstrates that Charlemagne was, by far, the most exceptional ruler of his time. There had been no other man to have ruled as much territory as he did in the days of the Roman emperors. His proposal to enhance education flourished in the kingdom., and Christianity spreadedspread to multiple people in need of God.
