It’s been two years as of yesterday and the pain remains the same.

I wish people understood that your addiction does not define you. I wish people stopped saying and thinking that just because you struggled that
does not lessenit lessens the heartache we feel, it. It does not make it easier! We did not see this coming!
Please do not diminish David’s death, do not try to lessen our pain with your naïve thoughts on addiction.
We lost David
- period. There is nothing that should follow that.

Grief does not just stop. it’sIt’s something we move forward with. We will not “move on”on, and just because we move forward does not mean we are “over it”it.

David is a father, a son
, and a brother and we love him today, tomorrow, and forever - just the same!
Let’s all try to be a little kinder to each other.
