The idea of Federalism is the foundation of the American government. The Founders of our nation believed that an even balance of powers between the Federal government and State governments would be the best option for the new nation, as it would prevent tyranny over the state governments, as well as maintain order within the young country.
After the Articles of Confederation, it became clear that a stronger federal government was necessary to maintain a functioning nation. However, in order to keep that, they were not going to get enough power or say if the Federal government got more power. This lead to the billBill of rightsRights being drafted so the Federalists could ensure that the states still had their powers while the Federalist increased their power. The billBill of rightsRights established that our rights will be protected. the federalistThe federalists did not see a point in having the billBill of rightsRights because they believed that the rights of the people wherewere protected under the constitution.
