As the library prefect inat Baptist High School (BHS) Mankon, I noticed thea lack of motivation amongst students, for reading and usage of library resources. This madeprompted me to seek a way to attract students to the library. I brought this issue up for review to the library mistress and the principal for review. A project was started, which sought for support from the organisations to refurbish the library. Educational Services International (EISERVI), run by Mr. Andrew Nyenty, received an appeal on my part on behalf of the school project. Shortly after, a donation of books (worth one million francs) was made to BHS Mankon. The number of students who visited the library to read spiralled after installation of new facilities from the administration and the donation of the books. The students who visited the library doubled and this, which caused a stir in the right direction, since students became more conscious of the importance of the library, andwhich encouraged research. HenceThis has led to better performance in class and better overall results from the students.
