I am involved in many different activity groups including show choir, choir, color guard, and church. Music and church activities take up most of my free time. In show choir, I have made an effort to take to the “less popular” kids and become friends with them, as well as in choir. I feel that it is very important to be sure to include everyone, even the outcasts. Color guard is a little different, though. The color guard members tend to be the kids who aren’t popular, feel like they don’t belong. That was how I felt upon entering high school. I didn’t know where I belonged until color guard. There I found a home and I strive to make everyone who joins feel like that. Church is one of the places where I try my hardest to unify people. This year especially in my church’s high school youth group, I have made an effort to get to know everyone. I have become best friends with people I never thought that I would associate with. Unity is so important to me. One of my goals, as I go day to day, is to become friends with people I wouldn’t have imagined being friends with, and creating a safe environment for everyone to be included and unafraid to share their feelings and problems.
