Rohypnol drugs are believed to receivehave a lower abuse potential, but can lead to physical or psychological disorders, Susan indicated. It impairs cognitive and psychomotor functions affecting reaction time and driving skillskills. She stated that users with a Rohypnol dependencedependency are at a higher risk of getting infections. This is because the drug changes GABA receptors that isare responsible infor supporting the immune system. If these receptors are depressedrepressed, they cannot effectively help the body fight off infections. In addition, Susan (2009), later reported also that “harmful health, social and effects may occur due to long term Rohypnol abuse”abuse.” Some of long term effects of include urinary retention, cognitive impairment, gastrointestinal disturbances, and decreased and slow pulse (p. 4).
