: This experiment deals with the existing resistances in a circuit, their definitions and their electrical unit which is the ohm (Ω). Practical exercises of circuits with parallel and series resistances were developed, which reinforce our theoretical knowledge on the subject.
This allowed us to know the types of equations and how to use them in each proposed case, as well as to know other components that make up a circuit: the switch. The switch allows sectioning
of the circuit depending on what is needed at the moment, since when the switch is open there is no current flow through the branch in which it is connected, while the current flow is closed when closed.
In the circuits there may also be faults such as the open circuit or the short circuit
, in. In the case of an open circuit the current cannot circulate through the terminals of the same, which will result in the value of its current being 0, which in turn treating it with ohm'sOhm's law will result in infinite resistance.
When there is a short circuit which is a connection of two points directly without any component between them this allows the current to circulate without any opposition
, in that case, we will have a voltage equal to 0 therefore the resistance will be equal to 0.
