It was nearly one in the morning, and the young man who was about 21 had not had a drink in at least thirty minutes. He knew he had to sober up before he drove home. He called goodbye to the friends that he was with and told them all that he was fine when they expressed concern about his driving. As he got behind the wheel and started the car, he felt fine, and he continued to feel fine until he did not notice the four-way stop and barrelled through it, striking a car and killing the inhabitants: a father, and his seventeen-year-old daughter. Drunk driving kills more people than when people are texting and driving or when they have other distractions in the vehicle with them.
One problem that our society faces is the use ofpeople using alcohol when they are behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. Driving while under the influence can cause many problems in itself. One of the main problems that it causes is that when people are under the influence, their reaction time is much slower, so they can not act as quickly as they could if they were not under the influence. Driving while under the influence has caused heartbreak in many families and has caused heartbreak for many friends as well. One solution to this is that if you are with your friends, then they should not let you drive while you are under the influence of anything. itIt does not matter ifwhether it is alcohol or drugs. If theyyou are alone, then theyyour friends should have someone that they trust to call someone that could come pick themyou up so that theyyou are not endangering themselvesyourself or the lives of others.
