Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud was born on the 27th of June, 1956, in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. He is the second born of King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz. He was the first Arab , Saudi Arabian citizen, Muslim, and the first member of a royal family to travel into space.


Sultan was born in Riyadh on 27 June 1956, as the second son of Prince Salman, then governor of Riyadh province (currently King of Saudi Arabia). Sultan completed his elementary and secondary education in Riyadh. He received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from the University of Denver and a master's degree in social and political science with distinction from Syracuse University in 1999. Sultan bin Salman started his career in 1982 as a researcher in the
departmentDepartment of international communicationsInternational Communications at the Ministry of Information in Saudi Arabia. His tenure lasted until 1984. Later that year, the departmentDepartment of TV advertisingAdvertising was created at the Ministry of Information, and he was appointed as its acting director.




Prince Sultan
is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Space Authority, the first Arab astronaut and the first Muslim astronaut, and held the position of President of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia until 27 December 27, 20182018. He is also Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Aviation Club, and Honorary President of the Arab Tourism Organisation.
